10 Summer Essentials I Loved and How They Boosted My Creativity & Wellbeing

Hey chica bonita. Summer has come and gone in a flurry of sunshine, Iced Matchas, seafood barbeques and copious amounts of watermelon eaten. As much as I love summer, I’m happy to be back to the normal life routines and my work schedule after a little summer intentional disconnecting (in the Parisian style for August) and break from blogging, posting and working 🙂

So, as summer slowly fades, I find myself reflecting on the little treasures that made these sunny months even more special. From wardrobe staples to books that kept me glued in my hammock, these are the 10 things I bought, found, or experienced this summer that truly enhanced my life. Whether you’re a fellow business owner or just someone who appreciates the finer (or simpler) things in life, I hope you find something here to inspire you!”

1, Simple dress from Zara

Let’s start with the simple yet oh-so-perfect dress from Zara. You know that one dress that you can just throw on, and suddenly it looks like you actually tried? This is it. It’s the dress that’s seen everything from client meetings to quick coffee runs, and it never fails to make me feel put together. Plus, the compliments it brings are just the cherry on top! It’s like a secret weapon in my wardrobe, effortless and versatile, a must-have for any busy entrepreneur. I have it in two colours now (green and soft blue)… anyone else buy a few in different colours if you find clothes you love :D? And speaking of comfort, my next favourite item kept my workspace just as pleasant as my wardrobe…

2, Vitruvi Diffuser

Oh this is my working hours gamechanger. My workspace now smells like a spa/mediterranean countryside/or citrus orchard (depending on my mood)..  and I couldn’t be happier about it. The Vitruvi diffuser has been a game-changer for creating a more inspiring and luxurious environment. I’ve been using the “Citruss Bliss & Balance” essential oil blend, and it’s like an instant mood lifter – a subtle scent helps keep me grounded. If you’re someone who spends hours working in one space, trust me, this little beauty is worth the investment. The Vitruvi diffuser doesn’t just create a pleasant environment; it also helps me stay focused and calm during long editing sessions, which is crucial when running a business. Now let’s continue with the Mediterranean vibe…

3, Cookbook How to Eat a Peach

I’m no professional chef, but How to Eat a Peach by Diana Henry makes me feel like one. The recipes are as beautiful as they are delicious, and the book itself is a work of art (it even has this soft fuzzy cover that feels wonderful to touch – like a peach). It’s more than just a cookbook; it’s a journey through seasons and memories. I spent a lazy Sunday afternoon cooking up a storm and pretending I was hosting a summer garden party in Tuscany. Oh and a glass of rosé of course… It was worth every moment. Talking about peaches, I have to mention my new ‘beauty find’…

4, Morning Cleansing Mask from Havlik Apoteka.

My mornings just got a little more luxurious thanks to Havlik Apoteka morning cleansing mask. It’s like waking up your skin with a gentle, rejuvenating hug. I’ve noticed a real difference in how fresh and glowing my skin looks, perfect for those no-makeup, Zoom-call days. If you’re like me and believe that good skincare is the best foundation for any look, this mask is a game-changer. Oh and of course it’s natural and cruelty free.

5, The Ritual of Karma hair & body mist with hydra boost complex

I’ve found my signature summer scent in Rituals’ Good Karma body and hair spray. It’s light, refreshing, and just a little bit exotic – like summer in a bottle. I love spritzing it on at the beginning of each day, and the scent lingers just enough to make me feel like I’ve stepped out of a luxury resort, even if I’m just at home working at my computer.

It’s become a little ritual (pun intended) that I look forward to in the morning. It’s quite light, and doesn’t last that long, but I keep a little bottle in my handbag and top it up during the day. On hot days, it’s actually a nice little refresher.

6, My Pachira Plants

I’ve always loved plants (hello fellow plant mamas), but this summer, I’ve experimented with my Pachira plant and grew some ‘baby pachiras’.  I’ve done it with plenty of avocado trees, but never pachira. There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching those little leaves unfurl, knowing you played a part in their growth. Plus, having greenery around is such a boost for my home office – it’s like bringing a bit of the outdoors in, which keeps me inspired and refreshed during long workdays.

7, Zara white linen shirt

If you’ve ever wondered what “effortless chic” looks like, it’s this Zara white linen shirt. I’ve worn it so many times this summer, and it’s never let me down. Whether I’m pairing it with jeans for a casual day out or throwing it over a dress as a light cover-up, it’s the perfect mix of cool and comfortable.

And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good linen shirt? It’s a staple that I’ll be reaching for long after summer is gone.

8, Liveship Traders Trilogy by Robin Hobb

Okay, now most of you know that I’m a sucker for a good long fantasy novel, and Robin Hobb’s Liveship Traders Trilogy has been my escape this summer. If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones, this series will keep you hooked. I’ve spent many late nights (and even whole days) unable to put it down, completely lost in the world of talking ships, pirates, wonderful storytelling, complex characters and beautifully crafted descriptions and storytelling that transports you ‘right there’. It’s the kind of story that pulls you in and doesn’t let go – a perfect companion for lazy summer evenings or long flights.

7, Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller

On the business side of things, Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller has been an eye-opener. This book is a must-read for anyone looking to refine their brand messaging and connect with their audience more effectively.

It’s packed with actionable insights that I’ve already started applying to my own business. If you’re serious about taking your brand to the next level, add this to your reading list ASAP.

8, Moleskine B5 Size Notebook

Last but certainly not least, my new Moleskine B5 notebook has been my constant companion this summer. There’s something about putting pen to paper that just can’t be replicated digitally.

Whether I’m journaling, brainstorming, sketching out ideas for a new photoshoot or jotting down thoughts during a client meeting, this notebook is the perfect size – large enough for serious notes but still easy to carry around. Plus, let’s be real, it just looks so elegant.

So there you have it – 10 things that have brought a little extra joy, relaxation, fun or productivity to my summer. I hope you found a bit of inspiration in this list, whether it’s for your business, your home, or just for fun.

What about you? What were your must-have items this summer? I’d love to hear what made your season special?

Here’s to a fabulous end to the season and to the new adventures that await in the months ahead!
