You’re Not Doing It Wrong, The World Is Just Shifting
Reading time: 4 minutes
A quiet reflection on visibility, business, and doing things differently in 2025
There’s something grounding about writing from my mum’s garden.
Birdsong in the trees, lavender swaying beside me, a cup of coffee warming my hands, and my bare feet pressed into the grass. A moment of stillness, quiet and just being… and lately, I’ve needed it.
Because I’m not going to lie…
The past few months have felt strange. Foggy. Like the old ways of doing business… showing up endlessly, pushing content, chasing numbers… just aren’t working anymore. Both for me personally, and my business.
Something in the air feels different.
A quiet invitation to pause, to soften, to come back to truth.
And maybe you’ve felt it too?

Maybe the usual advice – be more visible, post more often, follow the strategy, is starting to feel too loud.
Too heavy.
Like it was made for a version of you that doesn’t quite exist anymore.
If you’re a heart-led solopreneur trying to grow a business from presence, not pressure, you’re not alone.
That ache of “what even works anymore?” … I’ve felt it too. And I’ve been sitting with it. Not forcing a fix, but to listen.
What’s coming through isn’t a 3-step plan.
It’s softer. Slower. More honest. More you.
So, in case you’ve been feeling the shift too, I wanted to share what’s been keeping me grounded lately… the quiet truths I’m leaning into in life and business. Think of this less like a “how-to” and more like a hand on your shoulder and just permission to breath and pause.

1. Trust is the new algorithm
People aren’t looking for more noise. They’re craving realness.
So I’m letting go of reach, and leaning into relationships… honest stories, quiet referrals, and slow, meaningful connection and amazing client experience. That’s what creates resonance now.
2. Showing up is softer now
It’s not about being louder or trendier. It’s about being truer. I’ve actually taken a total step back from social media over the last few months… and it felt so good. No constant pressure to post, no comparison game, not chasing the algorithm… no pressure.
I will still be sharing going forward, but intentionally. Even one meaningful post can be enough if it’s aligned. Presence > performance.
3. Long-term love over short-term hype
Not everything has to convert right now.
I’m creating things that nourish me and my people … like this blog, or the soulful storytelling guide (and other great freebies) I’ll be sending out soon. Depth over dopamine.
4. Visibility starts inside
Confidence & clarity can’t be forced. But it can be nurtured.
I’m gently noticing where I hide… and inviting myself to be seen with kindness. It’s not about turning the volume up, it’s about tuning in.
I don’t want to be adding to the noise, just to play the game. I want to show up and serve ‘my people’.
5. Slowness is strategic
Sometimes clarity comes through stillness. Things are shifting so fast… it’s overwhelming, and trying to keep up is just exhausting.
I’ve been letting go of hustle-shaped timelines, giving myself space to listen to my body, my energy, and my sacral yes. There’s wisdom in the wait.
6. Your work is worthy without “more”
Simple doesn’t mean small.
Your offers, your words… they already carry value. You don’t need to be louder or shinier to be enough. Just stay true, and the right people will find their way to you.
7. You are not behind
The quick shifts and changes, and the uncertainty… It can all feel scary.
The world is just shifting. And we get to shift with it.
I’m making space for new rhythms, even if they look nothing like last year’s. So I’m adjusting a few things in my business and life to make it more aligned with what feels right for me right now.
So if you’ve been feeling disoriented or disconnected in your business lately… please know:
✨ You’re not doing it wrong.
✨ You’re not alone.
✨ You’re allowed to do it differently now.
This is your permission slip to come back to what’s true…. for you.
With love from the garden,
Terka x
P.S.
If this resonated, I’d love to hear where you’re at. Truly.
And if you know someone who’s been quietly questioning it all too, feel free to pass this on.
We need more honest conversations like this.
